Thunder Nick The Netball Superleague Final

Surrey Storm, who were unbeaten over the entire Superleague season, fell at the last hurdle to Manchester Thunder in a thrilling game that ended 49-48.

Helen Housby showed nerve and quality of the highest level to net the last point from a fantastic Thunder turnover.

Surrey, who have been trophy-less for five years, must have really thought that their superb 2014 season would finally end their drought, but it was not to be.

Manchester Thunder won the Superleague title in dramatic style, netting a last-minute winner to overcome previously unbeaten Surrey Storm by 49-48.

Storm were favourites to claim the silverware after an impressive regular season and looked confident at half-time, going in 26-22 ahead.

But Thunder held their nerve and were level on points with less than a minute to go.

And they won it from a superb turnover, finished off in style by Helen Housby.

In a game played beforehand, Hertfordshire Mavericks beat Team Bath to third place.
